Itron RR16-50-42-8N-033 Gas Pressure Regulator – DN50 with SAV 033 Overpressure Shut-Off
Itron RR16-50-42-8N-033 – Technical Overview of Regulator and Spare Parts
The Itron RR16 is a direct-acting, spring-loaded gas pressure regulator built for gas supply networks, industrial plants, heating installations and any process with continuous consumption or rapid flow variation. Its modular type code reads: series RR16 – nominal size – orifice diameter – actuator – integrated safety shut-off valve. In RR16-50-42-8N-033 this translates to DN50, a Ø42 mm orifice, the 8N diaphragm actuator, and an integral SAV 033 overpressure shut-off device.
Inlet pressure is accepted up to 16 bar, with an outlet setting range from 10 mbar to 1.1 bar depending on the installed spring, and accuracy and lock-up classes up to AC 5 / SG 10. The working range is −20 to +60 °C for gas and −30 to +60 °C ambient. Sizes are DN25, DN50 and DN80 with PN16 flanges to ISO 7005, dimensions follow EN 334, and the body is spheroidal graphite cast iron GGG 40 with an S235JR steel actuator; the SSV actuator uses brass, steel and aluminium. The regulator is available in a balanced version with inlet pressure compensation, which keeps outlet pressure stable when upstream pressure fluctuates — the reason the RR16 is so widely matched to forced-draught and packaged burners.
The SAV 033 provides integrated overpressure shut-off in the 40 to 450 mbar range, selected by spring (40–70, 50–150 or 140–450 mbar), with manual reset; combining the SL-IZN.1 or SL-IZM.1 device adds underpressure protection. Options include a flow disc for high-capacity duty, a built-in silencer reducing noise by up to 15 dB(A), an SSV position indicator, and a monitor configuration.
Service parts comprise the main diaphragm, valve pad and seat, O-rings, gaskets, adjusting and setting springs, plus SSV diaphragm, pad and reset-mechanism seals. Because internal trim differs by orifice and actuator, orders must quote the full type code and the nameplate serial number.
