Itron RBE 4731 Regulator and SSV 8631 Safety Shut-Off Valve – Spare Parts Overview

The Itron RBE 4731 belongs to the RB/RBE 4700 series of direct-acting, spring-loaded gas pressure regulators with an internal balancing diaphragm compensation system. It is specified for district regulator stations, large industrial users, boiler houses and CHP plants where the regulator must respond quickly and hold outlet pressure steady despite wide inlet swings; a balanced design is insensitive to inlet pressure variation and delivers stable downstream pressure across the full capacity range.

Typical performance is an inlet pressure of up to 25 bar, an outlet setting range from 5 mbar to 13 bar, a minimum operating differential of 0.5 bar, accuracy class AC 1 and lock-up class SG 2.5, over a working temperature range of −20 to +60 °C. Nominal sizes are DN 25, 40, 50, 80 and 100 with ISO 7005 flanges in steel PN 16/20/50 or cast iron PN 16/20/25; face-to-face length follows EN 334, and the range is DVGW approved and PED compliant.

The SSV 8631 is the 8600-series safety shut-off valve, identifiable by its ø90 actuator head, mounted either as a standalone unit or integrated upstream of the regulator. It closes on overpressure, underpressure, pipe rupture or loss of the control signal, and is reset manually by lever or push-button, with optional remote control and signal switches. Permissible inlet pressure is 25 bar for steel bodies and 19.2 bar for cast iron; overpressure trip range is 0.028 to 20 bar and low-pressure trip range 0.05 to 5.0 bar, with accuracy from AG 5 to AG 1 and AG 20 to AG 2.5 respectively, tested to EN 14382. Bodies are EN-GJS-400-18LT nodular iron with G20Mn5N covers and NBR or Viton plugs.
