Product Overview

The Fisher FIELDVUE DVC6030 is a microprocessor-based digital valve controller built for 90 degree rotary control valves. It replaces a conventional electro-pneumatic positioner on the same valve mounting and adds two-way digital communication, so the loop can be commissioned and diagnosed from the control room.

The instrument takes a 2-wire 4-20 mA loop supply with HART communication, needs a minimum of 11 VDC at the terminals, and produces a pneumatic output from 0.4 to 9.5 bar (6-140 psi), up to 95 percent of supply pressure. Independent linearity is within 0.5 percent of output span, and the low-copper aluminium housing is rated for ambient from -52 to 80 C with supply pressure up to 10.3 bar (150 psi).

Key Features

  • Purpose-built for 90 degree rotary valves such as ball, butterfly and plug valves

  • 2-wire 4-20 mA loop power with HART digital communication

  • Pneumatic output 0.4-9.5 bar (6-140 psi), linearity within 0.5 percent

  • Low-copper aluminium housing, ambient range -52 to 80 C

  • Single or double acting actuator with auto setup and valve diagnostics

Typical Applications

Typical installations are quarter-turn ball and butterfly valves on natural gas transmission and distribution lines, refinery and petrochemical process units, and utility steam or water systems where remote diagnostics shorten troubleshooting. The travel feedback also supports partial stroke testing on shutdown valves.

Selection Guide

The DVC6030 has been superseded by the DVC6200, which is a direct replacement. When enquiring, state valve size, actuator type, rotation angle, supply pressure and whether the existing mounting and feedback kit will be reused.
